How The Glasglow Girls Club Book Club Works

Every quarter comes with a genre focus and within that quarter Claire has recommended multiple books for reading. At the end of each quarter, we will get together over a sparkling afternoon tea, where the books will be discussed and we will also invite an author (or two) to come along and share their story with us all.

It is not essential to have read all of the books (you would still enjoy having not read any!), it is a collective love of stories that will bring us all together and there will be plenty of chat and inspiration from Claire and our author(s) to keep us all entertained too.

What to expect –

⚡️ a glass of fizz or mocktail on arrival to wet the whistles for all the chat.

⚡️ a delicious afternoon tea served on round tables, ideal for conversation. We will have a table plan created in advance so solo bookers and members (who make up the bulk of our bookings) can sit together and connect.

⚡️A Q&A with authors

⚡️Questions shared with each table about the book

⚡️The dusty book exchange- attendees will be invited to bring any books gathering dust on their bookshelves to swap

Who can attend

This event is open to all members and like-minded ladies who have a shared love of reading, chatting and cake!

Members of the GGC enjoy a discount on tickets and the added benefit of being able to use our chat room in our exclusive members group to discuss the books, you can join this by clicking here https://m.me/ch/Abab750Vk1gPodpk/

More about Claire Duffy

Claire is a Glasgow crime, romance and romantasy author who is known as the Jackie Collins of Shawlands (mostly by herself). She was a screenwriter for over a decade until the film industry made her so bitter that she caught herself cycling past a production company giving it the finger. She quit, went to work in a pre school in Stockholm and wrote her first novel while her class of one-year-olds napped.
