Description
GGC Self-Defence Sessions: Empowerment. Strength. Community. Confidence.
Time: 9.30am – 11am
Date: Saturday 22nd August
Location: Kynoch, 31 Portman St, Kinning Park, Glasgow G41 1EJ
We’re not just talking about safety, we’re doing something about it. After launching in November 2025, our brand-new female-led self-defence sessions will run every couple of months.
Each class is a safe, supportive space to learn real self-defence skills and grow in confidence, alongside women who truly get it.
Meet the incredible women leading the way 👇
🥋 Buffy Price – Jiu Jitsu Athlete & Gold Medal Champion
Buffy has won multiple fights, including Gold at the ADCC Irish Cup and UK English Open in 2025. But for her, jiu jitsu is about far more than competition, it’s about confidence, focus and inner strength.“As a woman, I’m passionate about helping others build confidence, not just in self-defence, but in themselves.”
🥊 Jennifer Mackenzie – Qualified Boxing Trainer & Fighter
Jen discovered boxing at a low point and used it to rebuild her life, body and mindset. Now a qualified coach, she helps women find that same power, through skill, movement and encouragement.“Boxing gave me the tools to fight back, physically and mentally. Now I want to pay that strength forward.”
🥇 Leanne Kelly – Business Owner, Boxer & GGC OG
Single mum, business owner and long-time GGC champion, Leanne found boxing during one of life’s hardest seasons — and it became her outlet for strength and self-belief.“Boxing gave me my spark back and now I want to help other women find theirs.”
💛 Why We’re Doing ThisWe know self-defence isn’t a solution to everything, but it’s a powerful way to reclaim confidence, safety and strength.
