Meet the Member – Zoë Berry LIFE/EDIT Home Organisation
Name, business name
Zoë Berry LIFE / EDIT Home Organisation
Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration behind it and when you launched it?
My business is all about home organisation and decluttering. The inspiration behind it is my kids… when I was a stay at home mum, I spent more time in my house than ever before and became aware how affected I was by my surroundings, especially at a time when I felt time was very short and I had a lack of control over everything. I have always been pretty tidy but I realised that having systems for everything made getting out the door much more possible! It also helped me to enjoy being in the space as well. When I mentioned to other mums, I realised how everyone pretty much felt the same way and thus LIFE / EDIT was born.
Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey?
Give it a go – what’s the worst that can happen?! I love this as it’s so true. Being brave enough to dive in to the world of the self employed is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it?
My biggest lesson is definitely to go with your gut. It’s usually trying to tell you something important.
What is your number 1 business tip for success?
Surround yourself with the right people. It’s taken a while to get here, but my team are incredible: we have the best relationships with each other and our clients.
What are the big business goals for the next year?
To smash Glasgow! We are already nailing Edinburgh, but would LOVE to bring our magic to Glasgow 😊
How can the GGC Business membership help?
By spreading the word, by doing testimonials on us and booking us to sort out your house!
What’s the dream?
To be the by-word for home organisation. Bye bye Stacey Solomon and Marie Kondo! It’s all about the Scottish offering!
Fave mantra to get you buzzed up for business
‘Build the business you never want to escape from’ (no Sunday night blues here!)
Shout out to another local business you admire?
I am just learning about Glasgow companies to be honest, but as someone who usually has a car FULL of other people’s stuff, I’d say a car valet!
Three fun facts about you!
I LOVE France and can speak fluent French. Totally useless in my job, but good for holidays.
I am the OG lover of leopardprint – Bet Lynch is my heroine and I’ve been going strong since the 90s.
I am totally in love with Rob Delaney and have a life-size cut out of him on the door of my downstairs loo.
