Meet the Member – Martine Nadler, Essor Training
Name, business name
Martine Nadler, Essor Training
Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration behind it and when you launched it?
We have been an approved training provider since 2018 providing SVQs and Modern Apprenticeships in Early Years and Childcare and are now expanding to other industries. I previously ran a recruitment agency and found a passion for providing people with high quality training that gives them the real-life skills they need when entering an actual professional work environment. The focus is on the needs of both the employee and the employer.
Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey?
Follow your passion; our business is about giving people the opportunity to do just that, as well as something we have the passion to provide.
What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it?
There have been challenges in terms of industry wide reductions in funding which affected our contracts with the college. This led us down the route of becoming more independent and putting in our own bid for funded places. Being adaptable allowed us to continue without affecting our apprentices and their training.
What is your number 1 business tip for success?
Our number 1 tip is to take all the help that is offered; make use of all of your connections and explore what is possibly available to you.
What are the big business goals for the next year?
Grow, grow, grow (that’s what essor means in french). We want to expand into other industries and establish a wider market of learners and employers.
How can the GGC Business membership help?
It can provide connections, community and collaboration. What can we do for each other? It would be great to establish a network of industry experts across fields as we dive into wider areas.
What’s the dream?
Best case scenario, we ultimately want to be established as the place to go for training with a reputation for quality and a focus on building the workforce of the future.
Fave mantra to get you buzzed up for business!
Focus on moving forward and not the destination – it’s all the little steps you take along the way that get you there in the end
