Name, business name Jacquie McGeoch, What’s On In Glasgow
Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration be-hind it and when you launched it? It is called What’s on in Glasgow, https://www.whatsoninglasgow.com. It is a website all about Glasgow and the G postcode area, whether you are looking for a new lamp, a nursery, a charity, local news, events or a job I have it on the site. For years I worked up and down the country with the Armed Forces, during the pandemic I got used to staying at home, I enjoyed it. When the site came up for sale I jumped at it, I love Glasgow and I love working with businesses in Glasgow. I have sponsored a couple of charity events, as I want to help the people of Glasgow too.
Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey? Always listen to what your client wants, then help them achieve it
What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it? The pandemic was my biggest challenge, I just had to adjust my sails and get on with it.
What is your number 1 business tip for success? Know your WHY
What are the big business goals for 2023? I’d like to sponsor a sports team I would love to help a grass roots team, and see the WOIGlasgow logo on the shirts.
How can the GGC Business membership help? Support network, ladies that I can bounce ideas off of and give support to. Being part of something is great, you never feel alone.
What’s the dream? To make WOIGlasgow the no 1 go to site for Glasgow and the G postcode area. I want locals and tourists if they are looking for anything in G postcode area, to think of my site and know they will find what they are looking for on there.
