Name, business name
Annette Fisher, Weans’ Scran & Kitchin CIC
Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration behind it and when you launched it?
We are a children’s cooking school based in Glasgow Southside. We teach children and adults how to cook healthy and delicious meals from scratch. We are a community interest company so all our profits go towards providing free classes to care experienced young people and free open cook sessions to refugee families. We launched in early 2025. I have spent a 20 year career in international aid and development but have always had a passion for cooking and exploring food from different countries – I wanted to bring that passion together with my experiences as a children’s panel member supporting care experienced children.

Ask for help, there is a lot out there.
What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it?
Social media is a critical way to market a business in 2025 but in a city like Glasgow, people still get a huge amount of their information through more traditional means like flyers and posters.
