GRAND OPENING: SØSTRENE GRENE’S BUCHANAN STREET STORE TO OFFER EXCITING GIVEAWAYS ON FRIDAY 28TH JUNE

Danish homewares brand, Søstrene Grene, will hold the Grand Opening of its second Glasgow store on Friday 28th June. To celebrate the brand’s highly anticipated arrival on Buchanan Street, there will be a special appearance from Capital Scotland’s, Katy Johnston and an exciting giveaway for the first 150 customers through the door.

Popular Scandi brand, Søstrene Grene, is set to open its second Glasgow store on the busy Buchanan Street on Friday 28th June at 10am. Customers can expect a curated selection of design-led items at budget-friendly prices, including interiors, craft & hobby items and lifestyle products.

To celebrate the opening day, Søstrene Grene will gift the lucky first 150 customers with a voucher for a free large, tufted rug worth over £60 and a canvas tote bag filled with an exciting selection of products. Capital Scotland radio host, Katy Johnston, will host the event to officially open the store and customers will be treated to refreshments, music from a string quartet, ballet dancers from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and much more exciting live entertainment.

Following the success of the first Glasgow store opening at St. Enoch Shopping Centre in 2022, the brand has selected the high footfall shopping area, Buchanan Street, as the ideal central location for its next opening in the Scottish city.

The brand is set to continue its rapid expansion plans this year, as the Danish retailer strengthens its presence across the whole of the UK, particularly Scotland. Aberdeen, Edinburgh and more Scottish locations are set to open by the end of 2024, with an aim to open a total of 100 UK stores by 2030.

Mikkel Grene, CEO and Co-owner of Søstrene Grene, comments: “Glasgow is a key Scottish city with a fantastic retail offering, and we are so pleased to be opening our second Søstrene Grene on Buchanan Street. Opening a central Glasgow store is essential for our brands continued visibility and growth.”

The Buchanan Street store will see the continued roll out of the brand’s ‘Retail for the Senses’ model, where subdued lighting and classical music are combined with a relaxing labyrinth-style layout. The new design encourages customers to slow down and enjoy a moment of escapism, or Danish ‘hygge’, while shopping.

The store will offer weekly new drops of trend-driven products alongside its core collection of homewares. Inspired by the Scandi design aesthetic, customers will also be able to purchase a wide variety of soft furnishings, kitchen products, furniture, gifts, hobby crafts, seasonal decorations and children’s toys including “mini home” products.

UK Joint Venture Partners, Norma Jacob and Richard Power, run Søstrene Grene stores across Northern Ireland, Southern England and Scotland.

Norma Jacob, comments: “We are really looking forward to the launch of our Buchanan Street store and we hope our customers will enjoy the entertainment and giveaways at our exciting Grand Opening event.”

Richard Power adds: “We’ve seen great results at our St. Enoch location so far and hope to build on this with the new central Glasgow store. Being in such a vibrant and tourist-driven part of the city is really special and we think it’s the ideal site for the brand to thrive.”

Søstrene Grene will open in Glasgow on Buchanan Street on Friday 28th June at 10am.
