Meet the Member – Emma McElhinney – The Menopause Training Academy
Name, business name
Emma McElhinney – The Menopause Training Academy
Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration behind it and when you launched it?
After 10 years of running a successful perimenopause coaching business – I kept bumping into other coaches who’d ask me about their Perimeno clients, sparking a period of wild panic, questioning myself and getting confirmation from accredited bodies that I was qualified to teach lifestyle medicine. In 2026 I ripped the plaster off and stopped coaching menopause clients – I still have loads of courses but just not 1:1 coaching. I now focus on training others in menopause nutrtion, movement, behaviour change and nervous system support.
Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey?
You can be the best coach on the world but if you don’t know how to do sales & marketing, you’re sending the people you want to snake Oil peddlers.
What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it?
That not everyone will like you, and that’s ok. But you can still have a best selling book.
What is your number 1 business tip for success?
Get very clear on why you are different and what problem you solve. And don’t write a book.
