Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration behind it and when you launched it?
Flite launched in April 2026, but my business partner, Paul, has been a finance broker for 15 years. He kept seeing the same thing. Small businesses coming to him after being let down by banks or brokers who put their own interests first. Bad rates, hidden fees, and nobody really in their corner. He wanted to do it differently. Honestly, fairly, and with a real human at the end of the phone. He brought me in to put Flite out into the world in a way that actually reflects that. I come from a marketing background and the brief was simple. Make finance feel less like finance. Because the product is a little dull. The result, watching a small business grow, breathe, or take their next big step, that’s the exciting part. We’re the bit in between.
Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey?
Link with good people who are where you want to get to. Your circle shapes your ceiling.
What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it?
Nobody warned me how many brilliant business stories I’d hear in this job and how much it would feel like being part of them. That was the unexpected gift that caught me completely off guard. The challenge is that it makes you want to do more, faster, for everyone. Learning to pace that and trust the process is still a work in progress.
What is your number 1 business tip for success?
Don’t take yourself too seriously. Be honest, be kind, and actually show up for people when they need you. Everything else follows from that.
What are the big business goals for the next year?
To become the first stop, not the last resort, for small businesses looking for finance in the UK. We want you to come to us first, trust us to find uoi the best deal, and know we’ll sort everything from start to finish.

What’s the dream?

I have a probably delusional belief that I can do most things I put my mind to. The doubts come along for the ride but I’ve stopped waiting for them to leave before I get started.
