Meet the Member – Caitlin Dalziel – Cada Creative

Name, business name

Caitlin Dalziel – Cada Creative

Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration behind it and when you launched it?

After 7+ years in a marketing agency, I decided to take all the skills I’d learned—website design, copywriting, branding, SEO, and social media—and start my own freelance business. Cada Creative is all about making digital marketing accessible for small businesses. I love helping business owners, whether they’re at the very start of their marketing journey, needing a brand refresh, or looking for regular support. I offer a range of services at different pricing levels to make sure budget doesn’t become a barrier to marketing.

Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey?

Who you work with matters. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some amazing one-woman businesses since starting my freelance marketing business, and it’s incredible to witness their journey and be a part of it. I’ve worked with colour consultants, therapists, charity founders etc—each one challenges me in a different way and reaffirms to me that I’m doing exactly what I should be doing.

What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it?

Life is a rollercoaster 😂. When you work for yourself, you have to manage a lot: admin, accounting, (figuring out where the ‘How to be a Business Owner’ handbook is!). It’s been hard at points, but definitely rewarding. Having my own business has given me more confidence than I ever thought possible.

What is your number 1 business tip for success?

Always take a moment to look back at your achievements. I think we can focus too hard on the negative/failures, but if we take some time to think about who and how we’ve helped, it gives us that much-needed boost to keep going.

What are the big business goals for the next year?

To be that all-in-one marketing support for more small business owners. I absolutely love working with small businesses and helping them see that marketing isn’t some pipe dream that’s only possible when they’re making X amount of money or have X amount of employees. The smallest businesses deserve marketing, and I hope to help as many of them as possible.

How can the GGC Business membership help?

Finding the GGC membership has been a breath of fresh air! I think it will be a great place to meet potential people to work with, and it also excites me for the networking opportunities. Sometimes having your own business can feel quite lonely, so I’m really looking forward to meeting other female-run businesses.

What’s the dream?

To enjoy my job and my life—pretty simple! My work/life balance wasn’t what I wanted when I was employed, and I’ve been making an active decision to change that ever since going freelance. I feel so much happier and content, and really hope that continues.

Fave mantra to get you buzzed up for business

I’m making a positive difference to people’s businesses.

Three fun facts about you!

1. I was born with a broken leg—causing drama from the second I arrived on the planet!
2. I lived in Spain for a year and would love to live there again in the future.
3. My wife and I got married exactly a year after we got engaged. It was a whirlwind 12 months, but the stress was worth it!
