Meet the Member – Corin Ling, Love.Once.More

Name, business name

Corin Ling, Love.Once.More

Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration behind it and when you launched it?

After spending the same amount as a mini break on a prom dress for my 17 year old daughter in November 2024, who had no intention of wearing it again after the 5 hours she wore it for, I started love.once.more.  I felt there was a gap in the market, lots of worn once preloved prom dresses in like new condition sitting in a closet never to be worn again.  Instead of letting those gorgeous dresses gather dust, girls can pass them on, make some money back and give someone else the chance to shine.

Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey?

It’s early days for me, only 2 months, so any advice and words of wisdom given will be greatly received!

What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it?

From speaking to other parents in the same position and the feedback I have received thus far, I know there are many, many worn once pre-loved dresses or new dresses to sell, it’s getting the word out on the service for sellers and buyers that’s my focus just now. Highlighting the message that’s it’s a great way to make special occasions more sustainable and budget-friendly.

What are the big business goals for the next year?

The big business goals for the next year is to get the word out, list a lot of dresses for sellers, promote the service, and sell a lot of dresses to the next wave of prom dress buyers. For sellers and buyers, it’s a win-win—saving money while keeping fashion in circulation.

How can the GGC Business membership help?

The GGC membership can help love.once.more as it has a big female following across Glasgow.  Reaching out to the members, letting them know that we are here and that we are very keen to help both sellers and buyers with our service.

What’s the dream?

The love.once.more dream is for the concept to be a success and hopefully over time get a premises of its own, then branch out to other cities with the service.

Fave mantra to get you buzzed up for business

The mantra I have on repeat to keep me motivated at this start up stage is: challenges are merely stepping stones!

Three fun facts about you!

1. I’m a self confessed walking addict (always with a weighted vest!)
2. I love reading books…but I find I can’t do anything else while I have a story on the go!
3. I’m constantly mocked at work for taking half a biscuit from the tin!
