Making New Friends in Glasgow

Make Meaningful Friendships in Glasgow with GGC

Whether you’ve just moved to the city, are looking to expand your social circle, or simply want to connect with like-minded women, the Glasglow Girls Club events, alongside our Social Club Membership, offer the warmest welcome in Glasgow.

Our community is built on friendship, support and shared experiences – with a full calendar of fun, easy-going events designed to help you feel at home. There’s no awkward networking here, just a lot of laughter and, in most cases, the opportunity to try something new.

You don’t need to be a Social Club member to join us – everyone is welcome at our events! But becoming a member means you get discounted ticket access to all our social events, plus free entry to two of our most loved monthly gatherings: The Pal Project and Book Club Blether.

Here’s a line-up of our Social Diary, offering a variety of ways in which you can meet some new pals through the GGC:

  • The Pal Project – Monthly connection meet-ups focused on friendship, community, having a laugh and trying something new – find out more here
  • Book Club Blether – A relaxed monthly chat on our book of the month. Find our reading list here
  • Rooftop Brunch Club – Twice a year we take to the rooftops for brunch, bubbles and iconic views. Click here to check out our past brunches
  • Book Lovers Tea Party – Once-a-year celebration for those who adore all things literary
  • Seasonal Supper Clubs – COMING SOON!

We know that making new friends as an adult can be daunting – that’s why we’ve created experiences that take the pressure off. Whether you come solo or bring a pal, you’ll always be welcomed with open arms.

Over the past few months, Claire and I have been d Over the past few months, Claire and I have been doing a real deep dive into our values as a business and community.

As the GGC continues to grow, we’ve been asking ourselves: What aligns with our values and what kind of leadership do we believe in?

And while we would never tell anyone who to vote for, there are some things we know with absolute certainty we are not aligned with.

As the founders of a community of 50,000+ women, we have learned a lot about people over the years.

We know encouragement creates confidence. We know support creates growth and we know that when people feel safe, seen and valued, incredible things happen.

But we also know this: Fear, division and hatred can spread like rot.

And when leaders build movements rooted in blame, anger, fear or “us vs them” rhetoric, it doesn’t stay in politics. It trickles down into everyday life. Into workplaces. Into schools. Into communities. Into parks. Into comment sections. Into how human beings treat each other

That matters

For us, leadership should bring out the best in people, not the worst. We believe strength is found in compassion, integrity, inclusion and accountability - not in stoking outrage.

And we believe if a political party wants to repeal and rewrite legislation as significant as the Equality Act, then people deserve to know exactly what replaces it before any kind of ‘power’ is handed over.

Because the Equality Act exists to protect people from discrimination - women, people of colour, disabled people, LGBTQIA+ communities, older people, and anyone who has ever faced unfair treatment.

If protections are being removed or rewritten, then asking questions is not “woke”. It’s responsible.

We also struggle with political narratives that dismiss climate action and environmental responsibility as inconvenient obstacles, while presenting short-term profit and deregulation as “for the people”. Because there is nothing pro-people about policies that damage what the future generations will inherit.

You don’t have to agree on everything politically to agree that kindness, dignity, equality and humanity matter. That’s the kind of leadership we’ll always stand behind.
